T / Terms of service

No quote before the fitting. Our stitching is warranted.

These are the terms for using romasposa.us and for booking a private bridal appointment at our bridal shop in Birmingham, Michigan. They set out how an inquiry becomes a written order priced in US dollars. Section 07 says what we put right if one of our alterations fails.

Version 1.0 · Effective September 30, 2026 · Last updated September 30, 2026

Roma Sposa
Terms v1.0
01 / Effective date

When these terms apply

This version took effect on September 30, 2026, and it governs every visit and booking from that day.

These terms took effect on September 30, 2026 and were last updated on the same day. This is version 1.0.

A written order signed in the salon carries its own date. If these terms change after you sign, the order keeps the version that was in force on the day you signed it. We do not rewrite the rules on a gown that is already being made.

02 / Who we are

The atelier behind the site

You are dealing with Romasposa, trading as Roma Sposa, one salon on Old Woodward in Birmingham.

These terms are between you and Romasposa, trading as Roma Sposa at romasposa.us. We are a couture bridal atelier and bridal shop in Birmingham, Michigan, United States.

Postal address: 722 N Old Woodward Ave, Birmingham, Michigan 48009, United States. Phone: +1 248-723-4300. Email: [email protected].

There is one salon. There is no second branch, no franchise and no reseller taking orders in our name. If someone offers you a Roma Sposa gown anywhere other than at this address, call us before you pay them.

03 / Service scope

What the site does, and what it does not

The site shows the work and takes a request for an appointment. Everything that matters happens in the fitting room.

romasposa.us describes the gowns, veils, overskirts and alterations we offer, with photographs of the work. It also lets you send an appointment inquiry or a chat message. The collection page sets out fabrics, construction and the basis on which each line is priced. The atelier page explains the fitting timeline and the alterations bench.

The site does not sell anything. It holds no stock list, takes no size order, reserves no gown and gives no delivery date. It is not a styling service by email: we will not tell you which silhouette suits you from a photograph, because the answer depends on the fabric on your body, and we have been wrong from photographs before.

Our alterations service covers gowns bought at Roma Sposa. We do not take in gowns bought elsewhere. We cannot vouch for another maker's seam allowances or boning, and a bodice we have not built is a bodice we cannot promise to fix.

04 / Appointments

Private bridal appointments

One bride in the salon at a time, for about 90 minutes, and the slot is confirmed by us, not by the form.

Sending the appointment form is a request. A private bridal appointment in Michigan with us is booked only when we reply by phone or email and name a date and time. Until then nothing is held.

The appointment runs about 90 minutes and nobody else books into it. The room, the stylist and the mirror are yours for that time. Because the slot cannot be resold at short notice, we ask for as much warning as you can give if you need to move it. A call to +1 248-723-4300 is the fastest way.

What to bring

Bring the shoes you will wear, or shoes of the same heel height. The hem is set to them. Bring the undergarment you plan to wear if you already have it. A bodice fitted over the wrong bra is fitted twice.

Guests

You can bring a small group. Tell us the number when you book so the salon is set for them. We keep the room calm, and we will say so if the conversation starts to drown out the bride.

Fittings after the order

Fittings are booked the same way, by us confirming a date. The usual order of fittings and the weeks they fall before the wedding are on the atelier page. A missed fitting can push the next one, and a pushed fitting close to the wedding narrows what we can still change.

05 / Inquiry only

An inquiry is not an order

Nothing is sold or paid for online. An order exists only once a written quote is signed in the salon.

There is no cart, no checkout and no payment page on romasposa.us. You cannot buy, reserve or pay for a gown here, and we will never ask for card details through the site, the chat or an email link.

Any figure or price basis you read on the site describes how a price is built. It is an estimate of method, not a quote, and it binds neither of us. We measure before we order. A chart size is a guess, and we have unpicked too many guessed bodices to quote from one.

The path from inquiry to order is always the same:

  • You send an inquiry through the form, the chat, by phone or by email.
  • We confirm a private appointment in the salon.
  • You try the line on, and we take your measurements.
  • We write a quote in US dollars naming the gown, the fabric, the changes and the deposit asked.
  • You sign it in the salon and pay the deposit there. That signed quote is the order. These terms sit behind it.

If the signed order and this page disagree about a specific gown, the signed order wins.

06 / Prices and deposits

How a price is set

Every price is written in US dollars after the fitting, when we know the fabric and the changes.

No prices appear online. All quotes are in USD and are written after measurement. Each line has its own basis:

Price basis by line
LineWhat the quote depends on
Structured Ball GownPer gown; fabric yardage of silk mikado and any bodice changes
Lace Mermaid GownPer gown; appliqué placement time is added if the lace is moved
Crepe Column GownPer gown; the simplest line to alter
Hand-Beaded Illusion GownPer gown; bead repair is priced separately after the fitting
Cathedral Veils and OverskirtsPer piece, by length and edge finish
Couture Alterations and BustlingItemised written estimate after the first fitting, for gowns bought at Roma Sposa

What changes a price

A signed quote holds for the work written on it. It changes only when the work changes: a neckline you decide to lower, lace moved to a new position, a longer train, a bustle added to a gown that did not have one. Any change is written down and priced before we cut. We do not add a charge after the fact for work you did not agree to.

A body changes too. If your measurements move by enough between fittings that the bodice has to be re-cut rather than taken in, that re-cut is a new line on the estimate, and we tell you before we start it.

Deposits in principle

Couture gowns are ordered to your measurements and cut from fabric bought for them, so an order carries a deposit. The amount and the date the balance falls due are written on your signed quote. The fabric is committed once the order is placed, so the signed quote also states in writing what happens to the deposit if you cancel. Read that line before you sign. Where the law gives you a right that says otherwise, the law applies.

We do not promise rush orders on gowns that need a long lead time. If your wedding date is too close for a line, we will tell you at the appointment rather than take a deposit on a date we cannot meet.

07 / Workmanship warranty

If our stitching fails, we fix it

Alterations done on our bench carry a workmanship warranty: a fault in our sewing is corrected without charge.

Sewn at
Roma Sposa

Our wedding dress alterations in Birmingham, MI are done in house, on gowns bought here. The warranty covers the work we did on that bench and nothing we did not touch.

What is covered

  • Seams we sewed that open. A side seam taken in, a hem we set, a strap we shortened.
  • Bustle points that pull loose. The loops, buttons or ribbons we attached to lift a train.
  • Fit we signed off that has shifted without a change in you. If the bodice was right at the final fitting and our stitching has since slipped, that is ours.
  • Beading or appliqué we reattached. If a section we repaired comes away, we sew it again.

What is not covered

Wear and damage from the day itself: a heel through the hem, a bead snagged on a chair, a bustle loop torn on the dance floor, wine, candle wax, rain. Changes in body measurement after the final fitting. Work done on the gown by anyone else after it left the salon. Cleaning damage from a cleaner we did not choose. Fabric behaving the way that fabric behaves: chiffon moves, crepe creases at the hip when you sit, and neither is a fault.

How to report a fault

Tell us as soon as you see it, and before the wedding if you possibly can, because that is when we can still fix it. Call +1 248-723-4300 or write to [email protected] with your name, the wedding date and a clear photograph of the seam or point. Do not try to re-sew it yourself; a hand-stitched patch over our seam makes it harder to see what failed.

We look at the gown in the salon. If the fault is in our workmanship, we correct it at no charge and give it back pressed. If it is not, we tell you why and give you a written estimate to repair it, which you can accept or decline.

This warranty sits alongside any rights you have under Michigan and United States law. It does not take any of them away.

08 / Acceptable use

What you may not do here

Use the site to reach the atelier. Do not use it to harm the site, us or anyone else.

You may read the site, share links to it and send us inquiries. You may not:

  • send inquiries or chat messages in someone else's name, or with contact details that are not yours to give;
  • send spam, advertising, abuse or threats through the form or the chat;
  • scrape, bulk-download or mirror the pages or photographs, or run automated requests against the form, the chat or the server;
  • probe, test or try to get round the site's security, or try to reach any part of the server that is not a public page;
  • upload or paste malicious code, or anything unlawful, into any field.

The inquiry form carries hidden checks that catch automated submissions. A message that trips them is discarded without a reply.

09 / Intellectual property

Who owns the words and pictures

The text, photographs, logo and maker's mark on this site belong to Romasposa or are used with permission.

The written copy, the photographs of the salon and the gowns, the Roma Sposa name, the wordmark and the stamp mark you see pressed at the top of this page are owned by Romasposa or licensed to it. Using them does not transfer any right to you.

You may save a page or a photograph to show someone which gown you want to try, and you may link to any page. You may not reproduce the photographs or the copy on another site, in an advertisement, in a listing or in print, and you may not use the name or the mark in a way that suggests we made, sold or approved something we did not.

Photographs you take of yourself in the salon are yours.

10 / Disclaimers

What the site does not promise

The site is provided as it is. The fabric in your hands is the only reliable colour chart.

We write the pages carefully and correct them when we find an error, but the site is provided as is and as available. We do not warrant that it will be free of mistakes or online every hour of the year.

Photographs are taken in north-window daylight against a concrete wall and shown on screens we do not control. Ivory on your phone is not ivory in the salon. Silk mikado holds a shape and chiffon does not, and neither looks the same in a photograph as it does on a body. Nothing on the site is a promise about how a gown will look on you or which one will be available on a given date.

The chat is answered by people in the atelier when they are free. A reply in the chat is general guidance and does not change a signed order.

The only promises that bind us about a gown are the ones written on your signed quote and the workmanship warranty in section 07.

11 / Liability

The limit of our liability

Our liability for a gown or an alteration is capped at what you paid us for it.

Using the website is free, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for loss arising from reading it, from it being unavailable, or from a link to another site.

For goods and work you order from us, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid Roma Sposa for that gown, piece or alteration. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as travel, venue, photography or other suppliers' charges, or for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen when the order was signed.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that Michigan or United States law does not allow a business to limit.

12 / Termination

When we refuse or withdraw access

We can block misuse of the site and decline an appointment, but we do not walk away from a signed order without cause.

We may block an address, discard messages or close a chat conversation if it breaks section 08. We may take the site, the form or the chat offline for maintenance or for good.

We may decline an appointment request, for example when the wedding date is too close for any line we carry, or when the request is for alterations to a gown bought elsewhere. We will tell you why.

Once an order is signed, we can end it only if the deposit or balance goes unpaid on the date written on the quote after we have reminded you, or if you ask us to stop. What happens to the deposit then is set out in section 06 and on the quote itself.

13 / Governing law

The law and the courts

These terms run under the law of Michigan, and a dispute is heard in the courts of Birmingham.

These terms, and any order signed in the salon, are governed by the law of the State of Michigan, United States. Any dispute is heard in the courts of Birmingham, Michigan.

Before anyone files anything, call or write to us. Most problems with a gown are a seam, a hem or a misunderstanding about a fitting date, and they are solved faster in the salon than in a court.

If you live in another state, nothing here removes a consumer protection that your own state's law gives you and does not allow to be waived.

14 / Changes

How a change is announced

A new version is posted on this page with a new version number and date.

When we change these terms, we publish the new text here, raise the version number and change the effective date shown at the top of the page and in section 01. The change applies to visits and bookings from that date.

If a change affects an order you have already signed, we tell you directly by the email or phone number on that order. As section 01 says, a signed order keeps the terms in force on the day you signed it unless you agree to the new ones.

How we handle personal data is set out separately in the privacy policy, and the cookies and advertising tags on the site in the cookie statement.
